Stephen D. Rice is Founder and President of PerforMAX, Inc., a multi-dimensional HR consulting company with an emphasis on maximizing employee potential. Since 1992, Steve has endeavored to connect with virtually all levels in organizations for the sole purpose of increasing employee contribution and satisfaction. He began his Human Resources career in 1976 and was employed by NJ Press, inc. until 1992 when he served as Vice President of Human Resources. While serving Radio, Television and Newspaper industries, he gained valuable knowledge in training and employee development, wage and salary administration, recruiting and retention, benefit programs, strategic planning, and coaching. Today, he maintains consulting contracts with numerous companies in varied industries. He has consulted with over 200 companies in 35 different industries. He taught management courses at three colleges and has conducted over 25,000 presentations in his career. He is also an entrepreneur and is the founder of Linx Golf Management, Inc., Atlantic Golf Inc., LGM, Inc., and Abruzzo Foods, Inc.
Much of his focus today is on employee development, behavior, executive coaching, policy development, operational and strategic planning, recruitment, and performance management. He spends a significant amount of time working with family owned companies in attempts to grow their business and better prepare for future challenges.
Mr. Rice previously served as President for the Newspaper Personnel Relations Association. He also held Board of Director positions at United Way, Ronald McDonald House, the National Council on Alcoholism and the National Board of Directors for The Society For Human Resource Management (SHRM), the largest human resource association in the world. He is a recent Past President of the Human Resource Certification Institute, the recognized association that certifies human resources professionals. He holds a BS degree in accounting from Monmouth University with an additional ancillary focus on industrial relations and psychology.
